The fish
Yesterday, my Mom and I went fishing at Betty Kay Lake. I brought two opened face poles and one closed face pole. As soon as I got there, I casted out my closed face with a piece of corn, when it hit the water I got a bite, but it just stole my bait. A few casts later, I put a hot dog on an opened face pole then casted it out and waited for a few minutes. A huge bluegill chomped down on the hot dog and tried to steal it, but I got a hook in its upper lip. When I was reeling it in, I accidentally reeled backwards and unscrewed the reel handle! Then I had to screw it back on. The bluegill was worth the confusion because it was six and a half inches long (minus the tail) or about eight and a quarter inches with the tail. I pulled it up onto the deck and struggled to take the hook out. After I ripped the hook out, I brought the bluegill home to fillet him and fry lemon pepper seasonings. (My first blue gill ever tasted great J)
