Five Facts On White Squirrels
- They are not albino but are actually white! The easiest way to tell if an animal is an albino is by looking at their eyes; if they are albino the eyes are pinkish red and if they’re a regular white squirrel their eyes are black, like most other types of squirrels!
- Sometimes they have a black stripe down their back, white squirrels are the same species as gray squirrels and that is why they have gray spots on their head or stripes down their back.
- They also love walnuts and chestnuts*
- When they are scared they will run like lightning and bounce…? I don’t know why they bounce but they do.
- They mainly live in Transylvania county and Hendersonville but are found in other parts of America.
